i would like to know, in your opinion.. what are some mistakes people make on valentines day. for example what gifts are often bought that nobody really wants. im trying to make a top 10 list for a magazine article and i figure you guys are the best to ask.
so what common things are done and what gifts are given that are overrated and really cheese the holiday out? what would you prefer on the love day?

Depends on the woman and the relationship. But, it should be something more sentimental than what you'd give for a birthday or Christmas, something more indicitive of your feelings for the other person.

Jewelry usually works best in my opinion.

I had an ex girlfriend who got a star named after her or Valentine's day and thought it was the greatest thing ever. I thought it was incredibly cheesy, and would never have thought to do something like that. Wierd, huh.

Worst thing you can do, is to do nothing, though.

The biggest mistake made on VD is not embarassing the sickeningly cute couples you see throughout the day by pointing out how utterly cliched they are.
