So right now I'm lightly drunk. (Joy and 5 points for Bad Apfel...a nifty little high proof German Apfel schnapps). Last night's entry met with utter failure as none of those fine people on my friends list felt compelled to leave ay entries.
I'll soldier on.
I'm brave like that.
Now, my charge to you, oh faithful readers, is to tell me your best drinking...

Listening to Lords of Acid, not wanting to go to work tomorrow, and generally feeling meh-fleh.
Stuff.
Yeah.
I'm exciting tonight.

Tell me something interesting.

We rock.
Last year the Windsor Police Pipe Band was undefeated in North America and took 5th place overall at the World Pipe Band Championships. They're technically fantastic. They don't make mistakes. They have been and are the band to beat in Grade II competition.
We beat them.
Your very own local Cleveland-based North Coast Pipe Band came in 1st place today at the Alma...

Aside from my computer, I have X-box, GameCube and PS2 systems (as well as some older fossils). I also own Gameboy Advance, but the games are so difficult to play for extended periods of time.

Congrats on beating your rival pipe band. A good accomplishment!

Well tomorrow at 4 I'm going to be leaving work and driving to Mt. Pleasant Michigan for my very first highland games ever with the North Coast Pipe Band. I'm excited, and we should kick ass.

Wish me luck. eeek
_sarah_:
Oh my GOD! I wish I had a car. I'd watch you. Mt. Pleasant is only a couple hours from me, and I LOVE Highland Games and pipe bands.
crazygrrl:
Good Luck!!!!

Yesterday was the first time that I've played my pipes in two weeks (since slicing my thumb cutting watermelon...). It went pretty well aside from some twinges and soreness. Next week is the band's first competition of the year. I'm getting psyched.

Big news of the day is that I finally heard back from Boston University....

I am so accepted. Now I just have to...

That rocks, man.
It's really good for you, and I think you shoot do everything you can to follow your dreams.

Although it would suck to lose you to Boston. Who would I play 40k with?

I caught the Covenant show in Lakewood last night. It was asolutey fantastic. I've seen them before, but this was certainly the best show I've caught.
There is just something about a band that has stage presence and conveys to the audience that they love their music and enjoy performing it for you. There is a certain sincerity when they said thanks for coming out...

I haven't seen Willow for such a long time that I didn't realize I was taking one of the characters' names. Sorcha is Sarah in Irish dialect. Once I started using it on SG, everyone asked about Sorcha from "Willow". smile

My band's first contest is in less than two weeks and I should be playing at least 45 minutes a day right now...

So I've been rather busy the past few days. Moving people out of their dorm rooms at college, seeing people I helped move in their freshman year graduate (how utterly bizarre), and generally feeling like I want to be ending another year of school right now too...
I still haven't heard back from Boston University about grad school for this coming fall, and I don't...

I never thought of it that way...

I did neglect my obligation today, but just ended up going out for a bit to eat and some ho-hos. smile Tomorrow, I have to be good and do what I committed to. Unfortunately, it's an all-day affair. frown

X-Com: UFO defense is still one of the best video games ever...released in the early 90s by microprose you must direct the planet's efforts to stave off an alien invasion. I had to get patches to even run the game since my computer is too good for the original program to run, and yet it's so timeless. love
crazygrrl:
I'll have to give that recipe a try! smile Thanks!

So I had a hell of a weekend...
On friday I was quite glad at the chance to have some friends over and to unwind with the bounties of my bar (up to 85 bottles of assorted liquors now) and the pleasures of good company. Little did I know of the tragedy that would soon befall me... So I preppd the apartment, got a few...

Well, my pipe band played up in Michigan this weekend. We sounded great and are well on our way to playing like we want to play for this season...I can't wait to go to Glasgow for the world pipe band championships in August.
*yawn* Lots of driving around though, which makes for a tired evening. That and the huge meal I had at Bennigan's two...

Alrighty then. I really just want to do nothing tomorrow...just sleep until noon, wake up and spend all day reading in bed, listening to some nice background music like Portishead. Doze on and off, and just stay warm and drowsy with hundreds of pages of slightly purple prose between me and the ticking of my clock. A little absinthe, maybe some painting...
I haven't had...
