For over twenty years I have used a camera to try and capture moments, places, scenes and perspectives that felt worth capturing. A battle that often seemed futile but a habit impossible to break. While looking over this quirky desire to capture a moment, it's easy to feel it is futile. Yet there are those moments.
Those moments sometimes capture what you want, how you want it. Those moments sometimes manifest visions and connect with others in ways that open you up to the beauty of perception. Everyone is unique and everyone brings a different sense of wonder and vision.
Never in all this have I ever really qualified myself with the title of photographer. A hobby yes, art I practice maybe but a photographer is someone who gets paid right? Who understands what a camera can do.
Do what you love and work to pay your bills. Sometimes if you do both as hard as your soul will allow, the universe can bring unexplained humbling awakenings.
I am now a photographer, getting paid for my work.
All this has just made me wish that everyone in their life should know this kind of soul opening, humbling and joy!
Express yourself and be true to yourself, the world can open paths when you least expect it but you have to put yourself out there.
