So at long last, I return to my home city of New York City. I have longed and craved this day for the 9 years I moved away.
There is no question as to the value of the journey between. Four years in LA allowed the birth of my then girlfriend, into my ever amazing love of my life, my wife. Five years in Chicago has allowed us to be near family and dearest of friends, the very essence of quality of life. The Return allows the rebirth of dreams and hope and put a serious fire back into our ambitions.
With this comes a full change in careers as I take up a youthful career, but one my soul has longed for. Creative hard work with tangible results and inconsistent pay, inconsistent duties and unreliable amounts of work. Every bit of it exciting and welcomed. What is this career? A production assistant stepping into the eventual role of Producer. Is it explainable? No. Is it going to work? Absolutely.
Priceless is the ability to follow your dreams. For me it was never about results but about the path, results are often just one step in that journey. The good and the bad.
