I hate Christmas music at work, it drives me nutso.
I mean, my work is all gung-ho about diversity in the work place and accepting people for their differences, and yet all I ever hear in the Christmas music department is religious and well, Christmas only music. What about the Jewish people in our community? Or the People who celebrate Kawanzaa, or even better, the Atheists?
Maybe I'm just ranting, but seriously, I could go a day without Tina Turner telling me about the real meaning behind Christmas. "The birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ." Please.
I wouldn't be so annoyed by it if they mixed regular music in with the Christmas stuff. Like... play a couple non-holiday songs and then throw in Jingle Bells in a little bit to spice it up. I'm sure that the Muslims and the Hindu who work with me would enjoy it.
In the employee guidelines that I got when I first started working there, the training even told me not to discuss controversial topics, such as religion, while I'm at work, then at Christmas time they play Oh Holy Night.
It just doesn't make any sense to me.

meh... yeah, that's really annoying. I was at some store the other day and all the employees were really annoyed at the christmas music playing over and over again.... as much as I want a job right now, I feel fortunate that I don't have to work through the holidays... sorry darlin! If I could steal you away from the horrible xmas music, I would.
