i'm not a religious person by any stretch of the word, and i don't believe in a singular/personable "god" in the sense that most religions do, but...
i'm praying for the iraqi people today.
i hope this shock and awe campaign is meant to shock military/ruling party targets, and awe civilians from afar (at safe distances) but i doubt this is the case.

Chretien (Canada):
"We do not believe the use of force would be appropriate without a clear indication from the Security Council that that point had been reached."
Putin (Russia):
"Military action can in no way be justified. Military action is a big political error."

Living in North Carolina, it really shouldn't surprise me that there's so much pro-war propaganda here but it still makes my stomach turn. There's a lot of anti-french bullshit going on here (freedom fries, and shit like that) as if that were really the point...
imagine yourself on a tall cliff, birds swirling lazily around your head and maybe there's a small stream in the distance loping over distant hills, maybe there's not. it's your vision.
anyway, it's serene.
you've gathered the people you love around you to share in your vision. this (to you) is love. the sharing of immortality in a perfect setting probably unmarked by human civilization... Read More
i can't read. its quite obvious that the numbers 14 and 21 look nothing alike, and yet i still confuse them.
i just worked for 30 hours straight. i'm tired.
it's also my sister's 20 b-day today. i wish i could give her hug and tell her that everything will work out fine, a little "there, there" with a pat on the... Read More
ah well. it was nice while it lasted. granted, most of the posts were mine, and i shamelessly plugged myself by posting on hoards of other journal's, but it was nice to see the little 02 at the bottom.

I'm growing more and more of the impression that scenarios from books like 1984 and Brave New World are less disturbing than the world we're gradually ALLOWING ourselves to form around us- we're not going to need a Big Brother to control what we think or are alllowed to do because we'll get to a point where we're just not THINKING anymore at all...
oh my goodness, you just hit it all on the head. i have a very love-hate relationship with technology... and cell phones are the worst. evil evil things. i, also, am scared.
unfortunately it's not that good, but it's the only one i could get my hands on that was already in jpg format.
it's been cropped/resized.. so, if there's aspect ratio issues, blame it on me, it's my fault.. i just didn't care enough to fiddle around with it that much.
Student Visa got me here the first time, I now have a sponsor but am sort of... applying to school here, so a student visa AGAIN is just around the corner-
Europre is fabulous- And I'm so glad to be missing out on those -20 Canadian winters by being HERE rather than there
i adore tuesday, she's the bee-knees, but my list is dreadfully short.
my guess is that the majority of people boost their numbers by posting in other people journals (rather than the boards - which is where i spend the majority of my time) so, that's what i'm going to do.
harddrive is dying on my webserver. i was hoping it would make it up 'til the release of mandrake 9.1, but i don't think luck is running in my direction.
anyway, i want to move. i need a new place to move too. i'd rather stay in canada, but any suggestions are welcome.

and i'm already quite familiar with higher education, just community college. i couldn't afford university the first time around, so i'm going to fix that this time.
Not entirely sure we need more proof of the fact we've evolved from apes (or in this particular instance I feel we may have de-evolved, depends on how much credit we give humans over apes).
All I know is that it makes me sad that I am part of the same species (and most likely sex) that comments such as these originate. In the next life I'm coming back as a butterfly.
anywho. this is supposed to be a journal entry, so i should probably say something about my day/night. it was light out, then it was dark. i drank a lot, *surprise surprise* and i'm not quite sure how i got home last night, nevertheless.. i'm there, so i should be relieved.
i should check my comments section a lot more often.
louise: i believe the shins are good for everyone! so yes, yes... mix away. your niece will be appreciative when she's older.
tuesday: thank you thank you. rather like them myself too. btw, may i be the first to say (not sure if i'm the first) but your pic and profile are simply amazing.
