Last thursday I took some time to go to the range with the new rifle and test some different loads, I need to stop doing that.
I turned a perfectly good rifle into a bomb and put my face right next to it.
I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow to see about getting the piece of metal out of my hand and see if they need to get the metal and glass out of my face.
The piece is in my middle finger but it got there going through the tip of my ring finger.
All in all I call myself lucky as hell, I always wear safety glasses and there are two knicks in the lense right in front of my eye so this could have been a whole lot worse.

Actually it was a base load of 58 grains of 4000 mr pushing a 168 grain nosler custom competition in a 7mm rem mag. I normally use a 140 grain ballistic tip sitting on top of 63 grains of imr 4350. With powder availability being what it is right now I was trying something new and its probably the last time I do that.
