Oh! I have a cat report for you...I got a new kitten, his name's Loki. He's really sweet, such a cutie; his markings make him look like he's wearing a tuxedo hehe. Surprisingly, Iris gets along with him pretty well.

i am moving to ny for a change of lifestyle. no matter where in the world i am i will be writing. I will spend the first 3 months in nyc writing then try and find work.

at the moment i am working on my creative writing folio for my masters... first draft due monday.... scary!

Yeah dude,

usually the kind of dog that you would call a dustmop is rather annoying. I am kind of a dog guy myself however, and I do very little fishing and no hunting whatsoever. Cats always jump on my head. I have trouble sleeping when they're in the house, as I can sense their nervous energy-- they don't sleep, attack things like stuffed animals in the middle of the night, and once again, jump on my head. I can't stand them. The last one my gf/wife made us get, I named Trial Basis, and of course, the little bugger has now gone to a new home. He lasted two weeks. Some dogs are very annoying, however. Insist that the door stays shut during sex, insist that no one gives it table scraps, and blow in it's face when it bugs you. They hate that.

As far as the Taoist thought of the day, the subject matter is very applicable to yours truly. I'm nearly a withered old man from doing these very things now. I'm trying to get on my own again-- very difficult.

I couldn't understand exactly. Is it supposed to read this way?:

If you are compassionate, you will sometimes be burdened intolerably with the problems of others. Be compassionate ANYWAY(?) and redouble your efforts when you are so burdened.

I will try to keep my head up and double my efforts. However, I must say, with all of the potentially disabling consequences and pure effort involved with exerting such compassion, it certainly doesn't seem to jive very well with, say, flowing like a leaf on a river, a classic Taoist analogy to life. Help.

Don't sweat the dog too much, PH. Remember the blowing in the face trick. Just don't let the gf see you do it.

Yeah, actually am not moving to L.A., but lived there throughout most of the nineties. Damn, I imagine it sure would have been a lot more fun if Suicide Girls website, groups, etc. had been around then, as it often got kind of lonely, but I had a few friends, a punk band, old country music and the Palomino to take care of the blues when they came around. Lived in Venice Beach and Atwater Village. We did a lot of innovative shit there back then.

I'm actually just buying a place in the mountains out here right now, but have a workshop and house on a lake in Idaho. Material shit, I know. Having it actually makes it much harder to just bail on an unpleasant situation, but will make life much better when I get some time alone. I'll get out on vaca every once in awhile.

We gotta get more folks onto that compassion thing, I think.

Yeah, STILL continuing to find out about remakes bing released this summer. I absolutely can't believe this trend. Of course it will taper-off eventually when the garbage pushers realize this remake trend won't continue to work, especially not with this kind of sheer quantity-- at least, I hope not.

Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts and suggestions regarding my lovesick/brokenhearted bullshit. They were helpful. It's been a privilege at times, but generally, it's tough as hell to live with, and even tougher somehow to walk away from. I think I'm going through with the walkaway anyway. You just never really know, however, until you get to that moment, so we'll see. But the depression kicking in now that ten years are gone, my options seem more limited, the world seems smaller, and this beergut and double chin hanging off my neck are undoubtedly larger, is giving me a hell of a time.

You'll be updated regularly here, though I try not to get too personal on the journal/blog/board posts. I'll probably keep doing SG updates, unless I end up getting a perm, start donning a speedo, riding a moped and hanging out on the beaches of Greece somewhere real soon.

Not much chance of that.

The alienware PC is insane. I bought it about 6 months ago. It's got an AMD 64 FX-53 CPU, 1 GB of RAM and a GeForce 6800 Ultra OC video card in it. So far, no game I've bought can make this thing breakl a sweat.

I waited over 5 years to replace my old PC (a Gateway P III 550 box) so I feel I earned this toy. For a while I used it for work as my intent was to use it for work and play when I bought it, but my client's policy is that I use their machine for all work. They provided it to me about 3 weeks after I bought my Alienware. That didn't bother me as much as my having bought my own laptop 5 months earlier.

I live in Marietta. let me know next time you are in town and we'll get us a few cold ones. I'll buy. Take it easy.
