Id better stop actually doing things for a minute or two so I can write about them a bit.
So my buddy was out here in the middle of nowhere just to visit me because I am, in fact, that cool. We did Chicago stuff, and pohdunk stuff and caught up on indy films, etc.

Hope you're not gone for long.
I leave early tomarrow morning for the other big city and will regale you all with stories about the protests and all the fringe theater/cinema new york has to offer. Till then, sleep well and dream of large women.

No worries. I haven't even gotten to writing about the weekend part of my week away. Looking forward to your tales of the other city.

Hello, I'm here to bug you because you expressed interest in joining us in reading a Book of The Month for August. The title chosen was The Life of Pi by Yann Martel.
If you are still interested in participating for the month of September you can vote for one of the three titles suggested so far. You can also post your own review, or simply express your opinion of 'The Life of Pi" or my own poorly written reviewhere.

So I've seen several movies this past week/weekend. I have to recommend "Elephant," a day-in-the-life type movie that follows several students on the day of a columbine-esque school shooting. Also, "May," a disturbing little number about a girl who makes her own friend, literally. Some very disturbing scenes that manage to be funny in a not so laugh-out-loud way.
More importantly, I was back in...

One of these days we're going to do a Friday pr Saturday get together. Will that work for you?
It's funny, the first I heard of Pyrates was at my Princeton Review audition. The...hmmm....design manager???...was there too and he did some shameless self-promotion. I never made it but I do love the Chopin.
My ex keeps recommending Goodbye Lenin but she's from Germany so only has it with no subs. The other 2 I haven't heard of but will look for.
Okees, I'm off the VA 'til Sunday, where internet connections will be dodgy and access to naked girls even more so. Have a peachy week.

Closing the set with an extended Cowboy Dan was definately the way to end a concert.

Bloody fucking hell. This is what I get for refusing to listen to Q101....I make other plans. Not bad plans, per se...but going to see a Pink Floyd Tribute band in Glendale Heights (shudder) hardly trumps Modest Mouse and Death Cab in ONE NIGHT. FOR TEN DOLLARS. Think I can get out of it? Trouble is I'm going to the PF think as a favor to a friend who is doing me what I consider a much bigger favor earlier that day. Grrrowl.
In my humble opinion, the area around the landmark kinda blows, but if you don't get to spend much time in Chicago wander up to Belmont and Clark--it's a cultural experience.
Other than that, it all depends on what you like to do...

Yes, another day has passed and I continue to survive without my computer. Without my music. Without my movies, etc. etc. A
's curse, for sure.
Anyway, a good friend bought himself a copy of Brave New World with BNW Revisited and a foreward by Christopher Hitchens, my arch nemesis. He had it sent to me, knowing I had recently lost my electronic loved one....

July 22nd 2004 was not in any noticeable way different from the 21st of July, or the 21st of June, or the 15th of May for that matter. After work, I went to the gym and then out to dinner.
Later, I came home and prepared for bed.
Yet later, intoxicated, I sat down to watch Charlton Heston's triumphant Soylent Green and promptly passed out...

Wow. Weekend. I think I'm going to head to the big city to see the Bukowski Doc. But who knows, anything could happen.
I just finished The Wooden Sea by Jonathan Carroll and highly recommend it.
Oh, and so many people put Dr.Strangelove in their fav movies list, but how many have seen Fail Safe!? The 'serious' Strangelove is adapted from the same book, and...

The battery will eventually run out.
It is not rechargeable.
One evening, after work, I'll come home
and it will have gone. Under the bed?
In the closet? It will have gone, I imagine,
with its megabytes of pop songs
to another boys box of top-drawer treasures
with the mismatched socks and threadbare shirts,
comic books and baseball cards...

Okay, a minute to reflect on the new Tom Waits album.
As reviewd by DIS:
On October 4, Mr.Waits will release 'Real Gone', his, er, whatever number it is album, people have stopped counting... Notably it's his first ever record without piano. SHOCKER! Tom says "Real Gone is an electric pill box... a homogeneous concoction of mood elevators, mind liberators and downers, an alchemical...

Well, fuck me sideways, I have a friend.
I made a trip today to the altar of consumerism known as WalMart. I had hoped to get myself a groovy (read: cheap) digicam so I could post the results of my parents little genetics experiment.
Wrongo.
Maybe I should take a computer class or something. Apparently the driver doesnt meet XPs logo requirements, whatever that means....

You need some sort of decent imaging program in order to change the size...however you can download ACDSee to change the format from .BMP into something else
