The top coolant tank on my radiator decided it would crack today, leaving me with a useless piece of shit sitting in the front of my engine compartment. I bought an entire new radiator and installed it in about an hour at the shop, instead of having the tank replaced. That would have cost me $62, but chances are the bottom tank would have gone soon, too, since it was under the same stress as the top one. I decided that buying a new radiator now was the smartest thing to do.
Unfortunately, that $130 was more affectionately known as money for bass tone circuits. Guess Ill have to wait a little bit longer to finish my baby. I should have the body back this week, if my guy would hurry up and e-mail me back.
If Im lucky, my friend at work will have the bridge plate done and Ill have a custom stainless steel heavy-duty bass bridge. Im somewhat concerned over the kind of sound a stainless steel bridge will produce, but if it becomes a problem Ill machine one out of good ol brass instead. I hear Zinc is another decent metal to use, but I dont think we have any of that available at the shop.
Ah, rambles. I need to do school work.
