First day back in the gym in 5 days and I must say it went a lot better than expected. It was also the first time I've been able to go balls out since injuring my neck so I'm pretty much on cloud nine right now. Nothing makes me feel better than throwing on some 80's metal, forgetting all life's troubles and moving some heavy iron.
Lately I find myself wondering how we moved from the action heros of the past to the rather feminine "action heros" of the present. I also got to thinking, in 20 years, is anything from today going to be considered a classic? We have gone from Sly and Arnold to "Edward and Jacob". Everyday I walk down the street and see guys looking like pre-pubescent girls and yet somehow girls seem to be flocking to them. I'm not sipping the hater-aid here, as I do pretty well myself, but there is no way in hell I would ever fit into skinny jeans.
Unrelated side note, my sister is looking for a goot portrait tattoo artist in the NYC/Long Island Area, anyone have any suggestions? She wants to get Keats' (the poet) death mask. Kinda envious, she went the route of a creative career so she can get her forearms done, I went into business, so I'm limited by my refusal to wear long sleeves in the summer.
