If everything goes according to plan, I should be in Malawi by January 15. Not much planned except getting a 4x4 and touring the country.

And then, it's off to Cape Town, SA, to meet up with Kelly. 12 days of driving to follow. Up through Namibia.

When we hit Cape Town again, there's cage diving with the Great Whites waiting for us. As usual,...

Oh man, Halloween was a blast this year. I got to be in Ottawa again for it, saw some old friends and some new friends, and went to a few events. I was missing it.

Bats returning to the bell tower: memories of childhood Halloween

My usual month-long preparations for the Most Awesome Time of Year have only just begun. Yes, on October 17.

It's not that I haven't been thinking about it. I start thinking about it on November 1st, like the Mayor character in that movie the goth kids like so much -- only I'm old enough to...

Just a couple more weeks before that best night of nights. Okay, it's really become a whole month, for me. But the weekend of is what's making it interesting. I'm coming home for it, this time. Finally able to spend it with good friends, even though most of them have moved away. Oh well. Still a good time. And I get to have shawarmaa, again....
