Back from the trip. Busy week. And most of the folks in LA drive out of their damn minds. I'm gonna need an adrenal gland transplant.

The pitches went well. Got to pitch 14 times. Four were very interested. Two or three were a waste of time. The rest were somewhere in between. But it was fun. Got to yap with some fellow aspiring screenwriters. Gave me a good vibe.

Got to go see the La Brea tar pits too. I saw a camel and a mammoth and a bunch of dire wolves and sabertoothed cats and a huge lion and a shitload of birds and a short-faced bear. It was cool. Hard to believe that these tar pits caused the extinction of so many different animals. wink

The best part of the trip was talking to a very pretty lady from Toronto. We got to chat while we were waiting to pitch. She was pitching a comedy too. Very nice lady.

Funny.
Charming.
Married.
Shit.
Damn it to hell.

Yep.

Oh. And I finally got to snuggle up with my nephew. I missed his homecoming from the hospital. He's a cute little rascal. Mike and I changed him the other day and he pissed all over the place. Including his little ear. Mike and I laughed. Sarah not so much. Here's a picture of the little shit.

4 out of 14 is very impressive. Interested to know if your pitches were all the same and what did they ask and what didn't they ask. Did the old man go in with you and if so, did he break out a can o' whoop ass. Did they validate your parking. Are you more inspired now. Too many questions I know. wink

saw " The Departed " tonite... have you seen it yet... considering it was martin scorcese, i was a little disappointed... character development was poor and not a real " southie " vibe except for a few accents... maybe i am just comparing it to mystic river and eastwood really knows how to tell a story... nicholson, martin sheen and even matt damon were pretty vanilla... i was surprised at leonardo dicaprio... he was really fuckin good... i haven't really ever seen any of his movies but he kicked some ass in this... later...
