but didn't this whole thing start in Portland? It sucks being away from friends. I know. I've relocated 5 times in my life... and this summer will be 6. EVERY time I've been on my own without job.. .no wonder why I have so many grey hairs.. .

I think that about sums it up. Sometimes I like being depressed. Haven't been in a while but I like the solitude. The thinking. I don't mind sometimes.

Sorry to hear about that. Having trouble meeting people in Portland? This is going to sound really dorky, but have you tried the SG Portland group? I've met lots of cool people through the SGNY group. I don't know how active the PDX one but SG social events are a great way to meet new folks.
