HASIL ADKINS R.I.P.
I just found out that "the Haze" died today. He's one of the best rock n rollers of all time for those of you who never heard of him. He was a one-man rockabilly band who recorded wild and crazy rock n roll in his shack in West Virginia. All his songs are about chopping heads off, hot dogs, chickens, and "hunching". I saw him perform this summer and he was fucking amazing. It was so punk he never finished a single song.
I got a free haircut yesterday by a woman with psychic powers. She met me a couple weeks ago and said "I HAVE to cut your hair! I'll do it for free." While she cut my hair she told me she has "the ability".
I saw 2 maddening films. Yesterday I saw "Palindromes" which is Tood Solondz's movie about abortion. I can't decide if i loved it or hated it. It made me queasy. It definitely struck a nerve with me though in its sickening depiction of suburban Jersey adolescence. I knew where he was coming from.
Then tonight I saw the Enron documentary which made me want to scream. Those fucking vile pigs.
Tomorrow night Patti Smith is playing at CBGB's for $15. I think I might go. What a deal right?
