It was a good weekend. It's a shame the circumstances that created it sucked so much.
I made it to John's funeral services, Friday and Monday. People I hadn't seen in years came out for it. It was great to see them. We all shared stories, about ourselves, about John, about each other. Everyone was in better shape after the event than before, which meant we all came together and made it work.
Hearing all of these stories about how wonderful a human being John was really made me think about how I am conducting my life. This was not the cap to my existential crisis, but it certainly provided some insight. There are a lot of things I need to be doing better to really be that better person a lot of people seem to think I am.
So John, even in death, was able to help me do just a little bit better.

As far as helping you, I'm glad that he maintains a presence in your life: I'm sure he always will since he touched your life...
Again my condolences bro...
