An excerpt from Dennis's life:
I loved with my friend Alison in two places in Stroudsburg. We had an Apartment on Main Street and then half a duplex off of Dreher Avenue (My parents bought their house and we took over the house that I had lived in from 1987 to 1999). It started off as a great relationship. I needed a roommate and she needed to get out of Syracuse where there was a lot of bad things going on. Still, there were cracks in the armor. My drinking was getting worse. Alison was taking the apartment over and making it hers, which made me uncomfortable. There were a lot of issues building up that neither one of us would tell each other about. Well, I come home to a note, telling me I had until the end of the month to move out. At no point did the words "You have to leave" ever come out of her mouth. Even after the note. At no point did she ever say that there were problems that could be addressed.
And so ended a friendship in acrimony and Dennis was kicked out of the house he grew up in. All because neither one of us could confront each other with our problems until it was too late .
