You guys are right. Im going to use the money to pay bills and put the rest into savings. Its just there are so many beautiful DVDs out there calling my name. Buffy, West Wing, Alias, ATHF, KITH, Bubba Ho Tep, Sea Lab, Neverwhere, Babylon 5I love you all. No! Savings! Bills!
Thanks for the encouragement, but Im probably not going to ask her out. Gs mom is my familys head accountant, and if something happens (or doesnt) it would get weird. Anyways, its not like Im committed or anything. I just thought it would be fun. Whats that bull shit-like smell?
All right, I have another scene in mind for The Killer with No Depth Perception. Looking at it, if I want the title to make sense, Alex would actually have to kill someone. It may be stupid, but this is the situation. Alex is looking for the kidnapped neighbor boy. (I changed it from his child getting kidnappedthat way you know somethings off with him from the beginning.) The thing about Alex is that he doesnt win fights because hes a good fighter (although he is) but because of his preparation. He tracks the kidnappers to a house in one of those gated communities. He gets the blue prints for the place off of the realtors website, and he memorizes every bit of the floor plan.
Coming to my idea, we jump ahead to the classic the bad guy is holding a hostage scene. Alex has a gun on him, but (as previously mentioned) he doesnt have any depth perception. The hostage taker (lets call him HT) is in the middle of the room, so Alex doesnt want to risk shooting as he doesnt know exactly how far away he is. Alex is wearing a mask, obscuring his eye patch, and HTs frozen. Alex moves to one side of the room with his back against the wall and tells HT to go. When HT reaches the door, Alex uses the dimension from the floor plan to see how far away HT is and shoots, freeing the kid and killing the hostage taker. My instinct is that this first (partly justifiable) murder is what gets the police after him, and thus leads into the story quite nicely.
I just dont know how this would work. Would the reader understand why he doesnt want to shoot? And how about the fact that hes setting the guy up to kill him? Would the creepiness of Alexs character come through? How sympathetic would he be? At the moment, Im thinking this through as a comic book, which gives me some flexibility. I could try to explain it through an internal monologue, but though balloons are crap and those little boxes would make him sound too Dark Knight or Rorschach. I guess it goes into the idea vault.
Im trying to organize a night of decadence tonight.
My friends are starting to filter back into town, but everyone is too tired to do anything fun. Lazy bastards! They want me to meet them somewhere. Its just selfish.
Going to bed now. Gnight all.

Loving the story. Keep it up!
Bed SHMED! that's right! I said it! and I'll say it again! BED SHMED! You should be calling up G and hanging out and having somewhat platonic fun fueled by many a drink. Anyway I'm off to bed.
