Two words: "HOCKEY MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND!" It's Thursday night, the '03 season opened up last night and I've already seen four games. And while I normally don't believe in the hand of/presence of "God," I'm starting to find cracks in my atheist beliefs due to things like this.
Had a 5-essay Exam Tuesday night. Tried to work out Aquinas' hierarchies of Laws on Emma's page, and after all the effort, it wasn't even a question on the exam. Anyhow, the test sucked (thanks for asking) and I'm left with this central question: Does ANYONE know who the Neo-platonists were? And how relevant is the knowledge of small pre-Machivellian sects (which are of questionably historic significance at BEST) to the fundamental understanding of tenants of political theory?
Fuck it. Back to hockey: "How much chuck could a Matvichuk chick if a Matvichuk could chuck wood?" Thats a good question too. And go Edmonton! for the love of god, will everyone who is on the RedWing's dick these days, just get off? I hate that team... it's one big bandwagon. It was a good team... had a good coach.. and then BAM... every great player who wanted to win the cup piled on to the roster so they wouldn't have to actually fight it out with a normal team. It's like the Western All-Stars or something out thee. Pisses me off. And not just 'cause I'm an Avs fan... I'm thinking about switching to the Lightning or something... at least those guys have to play every night, and they do it knowing full well they aren't going to set some new NHL record every time they come out... Bandwagons suck and so do Johnny come latelys... I say Detroit should go back to the '96 roster, and spread the talent back out.
And I dont' care what anyone says, I dig the rule changes. Usually the first five months of hockey season are for old people and the slow of thinking... they've sped it up and I like that. Now if they'll just be consistent andkeep on " lettin' em go" when the gloves drop, I'll be a happy camper.

I'm hopefully gonna be full time next term and take Admin Law and Policy Implementation, and Strategic Planning. Fun! (And I'm not being sarcastic, it does sound fun.)
And I love you too for loving Foucault. I was a poli sci in undergrad and I had 2 teachers that somehow forced me to like his writing and views. You have to read the other books on my list too! Especially Kundera since you're into politics.
It's really ironic that you wrote about hockey because less than 5 mins. ago I was thinking I need to get Winterhawks tickets! I used to be a hardcore figure skater so hockey rocks. But I think I'll wear a helmet to the game, ha ha, did you hear about that girl that died from a puck last year?
