I ended up scouting the trail that I wanted to ride today, but I screwed up and went the wrong way to get to the trail head. I didn't take in to account that some of the flat areas around the mountain were bombing range and fenced off. So I spent a good amount of extra time just trying to find the correct way to get to the trail, now that I know how to get there I'll be hitting it up tomorrow instead of today. I had also forgotten how much it sucks to have to try and ride through wet loose sand. If it were the beach it wouldnt be as big of a deal but the sand in the desert is another animal all together, I can already tell that my quads and calfs are going to be on fire later. Damn that lactic acid stuff!
Ah but my good luck seemed to continue I thought that my camelbak was leaking from where the hose attached to the bladder, well I was sorta close, it was the seal around the nipple the hose is plugged on to that was leaking so it's toast. I went to the store to try and get another bladder for it but they didn't have the right one and I ended up buying a new one. I guess it's not such a bad thing to have to do because the other ones I have are not the greatest for biking, either way to big for trail riding or the one I used out in the gulf that didn't have any storage at all. The other thing I didn't think about is that I have been riding a lot with long sleeved performance shirts and today I switched up to a short sleeved one and ended up getting a light sun burn. It'll be tan in a couple of days but I've been trying to be good about it especially after seeing a guy thats got leisons all over his arms neck and head from sun exposure. Oh well it's not like I'm baking myself out in the sun all day long so a little color won't hurt.
