fuck relative truth.
fuck my point of view, and double fuck yours.
i am the arbiter of right and wrong.
fucking lamebrain self-crippling lefties who are offended by the idea of being offensive - well i'm offended that they're offended.
i have every right to hostility, to opnions, and to voicing them at volume. i never let anyone doubt it.
fuck people who think that everything is relative. they're just confused, because everything is true!
EVERYTHING IS FALSE!
EVERYTHING IS MEANINGLESS!
and all ther iterations thereof.
(discordianisms fundamental misvaluations do not undermine the truths it has exposed, nor lessen it's power as philosophical contrast)
cultural relativists just can't handle the complexity of post-modernity or ecology (which i believe to be roughly equivalent)
the final truth is that you determine your own truth - which means that i determine my own truth - which means that i KNOW RIGHT FROM WRONG.
fucking relativies (novel pronoun - does it work for you?) they don't believe in truth - how can they believe in beauty? what could tehre be worth love?
what is worth fighting for? they should read more kerouac, they clearly need some inspiration. read some bukowski for grit and balls, read borges for some mind bending, to really see another perspective.
magical realism is for the birds, it may be what life is really like - it may be what MY life is really like, but it cannot be a standard. you have to pretend that the laws of physics truly hold or else you'll find that they truly do!
yadda yadda something else - i may edit later when loganberrry isn't wiggling.
cut and pasted here - my response to mr. dumbfuck
point 1:
you'd be right about that "ineffectual person" bullshit - if everybody was just like you (or at least as you presented yourself in conversation).
yar - i'd never make any friends and would end up moving to the ends of the earth to be a hermit.
(minor undermining issue - to be on the front line of the forest, is to be it's first and last defense. see also: ed abbey, who wasn't exactly ineffectual)
major undermining issue - not everyone is just like you.
most everyone on my friends list acknowledges that "everyone has their own reality" is one aspect of truth, but they also BELIEVE in some things, regardless of what anyone else might say, believe, etc. to end your analysis at the conundrum "everyone has their own reality," is to undermine truth entirely - and without truth there can be no honesty, no beauty, no love, no goddamn rocknroll. it makes me wonder if this incomplete reasoningisn't the cause of your aforementioned everpresent dissatisfaction -
because you can stop at "everything is relative" and your worldview can be said to be complete, coherent, cogent - inasmuch as you've just decried the ultimate meaninglessness of existence - which cannot be disproven. this is exactly why i am an agnostic - like wittgenstein said - whereof one does not know, thereof one must be silent - and nobody knows jack shit about the nature of god.
HOWEVER, i flatter myself to think that i have some experience of the world, and know some minor things about it. these "things" are no as obvious and simple as i would like, such that i could simply say to you - up is up, and down is down, no matter what anybody says - and therby refute the meaninglessness of the world.
instead - my experience has as a whole informed my worldview, my philosophy and my ethics to a degree that i have created a worldview that is roughly as complete, coherent and cogent as the aforementioned meaninglessness of discordianism (http://www.ology.org/principia/) or moral relativism (which really come to the same thing) - and this worldview has certain principles which i consider TRUE, transcendant of the absurdity of objectivity or subjectivity - they are instead what logicians would call "valid," by which i mean they are supportable - all the way down to metaphysics.
if i were to sum it all up, i might say simply as deep ecology does - that all life has value. this i believe is absolutely true, regardless of what you say though we might argue for aeons. i am now attatched to them, lao tzu strike me dead.
point 2:
giving up the language is giving up your battlefield. it's bad strategy, it's psychologically damaging, it's political suicide.
if global corporatism is society, what then are we?
maybe you're okay with being a cog in that bullshit, maybe you want to veer the bullshit-ship away from the falls by being a squeky wheel - me, i denounce the idea, i denounce the ship, i jump overboard, and reclaim my humanity.
society is made of people. globabl corporatisim is made of people, and also the emergent properties of global corporatism that include politics, legal structures, bylaws etc.
they are not the same thing, not in any way, and i could go on for hours or days enumerating the ways they are not the same - and the ways in which it is bad for the whole goddamn movement to ever say that they are.
i think the primary misunderstanding is the confusion of culture and society. society, again, is made up purely of people. culture is made up purely of tradition. it may be argued that global corporatism has hijacked our culture, this may even be true. this does not mean that it is irreversible, this does not mean it is a platonic attribute of people, this does not mean that i am global corporatism, and it does not mean that you are.
i'll keep going with this if you do.
