Update: happy tears
The two girls are not out of the woods but are showing signs of improvement. Danielle (the older one) recognized her cousin's voice a few hours ago. She reached her far hand over to grab at the sound of the voice. And earlier this morning Brittany, the younger one, coughed on her own. Miracles. That and the doctors know where the bullets are and they feel confient that they can be removed without further damage. Now we don't know what damage is there, but ther is a good chance they'll live.
I'll post the article of my cousin's (beth's brother) comments to the press, when they get released tomorrow night. The media, most of them not all, have been horrible. Fortunately Beth's father is a retired Firefighter so when the cops get called they practically teleport over. Some PRICK from Fox 25 approached a 15 year old at night. COWARD. She did as was instructed by her mom, "just say no."
She's dead, the murder is dead, the story is dead, leave my family alone. Channel 7 also sucks ass.
If you feel a need to do anything, (and believe me your thoughts and prayers are more than enough to keep me strong so I can support Beth's parents, sister, brothers and their families) then either:
1) Go donate blood or volunteer at a blood drive if you are squeamish or cannot donate for a good reason (yes tattoos and piercings are good reasons
)
2) Go babysit for or check up on a single parent. You know one. Be it a sibling, a friend, a co-worker or a neighbor. Single mom or single dad does not matter, you have one in your life somewhere, go lend them a hand occasionally.
3) Give to trust for the girls:

Side note: I have a visceral understanding for what it is I do for a living. I am a Life Insurance Agent and Beth was one of my first clients. So the Trust does have a head start, not as much as anyone would like, but her mothers reaction when I told was such a rewarding moment. Her reaction was releif that the girls would have something. Moral responsibility at work is a tough thing to handle. If you are local expect a call from me, because I love you and because you will never be younger and healthier than you are right now. You can say no, twice. But I have to call.
