Anyway, I need help! Fast! And this next part is shamelessly copied and pasted from another journal for lack of time:I need your help! Since people rarely read (or at least comment in) my journal anymore, I have to slut around other people's journals for help. Any way, I'm going to (well, I'm probably going to - they said I can and they'll pay me 100 bucks to open for their headliner they won't name, 'cause apparently they're better-known than me - which is pretty easy to be, but I think it's probably someone along the lines of the surving members of Molly Hatchet or something like that) play a Theme Time Music Show tomorrow night with the obvous 4th of July Theme.
Anyway, I need ideas for a set of US or Freedom-type songs. check my journal for what I already am planning to do. I generallly play anything from the Baroque period up to the present, from any genre. A slogan I used to toss out at an old band's shows upon rceiving requests or being asked what kinds of songs we did was: "We Suck Equally At All Kinds Of Music." We even printed shirts. Sold two. Gave away about 30.

It's good to make stuff - I'm designing some T-Shirts for a race-car driver friend now. If it goeswell, it'll be a good promotion for him as well as maybe generate some requests for me. It's not a business; I rarely do it, but when I made some shirts for my old combo "Daves Not Here" on our "More Balls Than Brains" tour, people actually asked if I could make shirts for them. then I made a Cheech & Chong shirt for someone and got requests for more.
This guy races at two tracks now and aspires to drive NASCAR (Non-Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks) someday, so it could generate a few bucks here and there.

Music scene here is pretty amazing- one of the reasons I moved here (apart from the good sociology course). Not sure what it's like for the heavier stuff, but there's a great club night called Deviant, and one called Corrosion, both of which play proper punk and metal. To answer your question on the best show I've been to, hmmm, that's a hard one. I would have to say it would be a punk band called Resist and Exist back in 2005-mainly because my friend took me to that show to try and cheer me up from a relationship I was getting out of, and I stayed in the mosh pit pretty much the whole night. Coming in a close second would be a Green Day show I went to right before they kicked off their American Idiot tour.
