Something happened to me in the last 24 hours that helped myself come back into focus .....
Last night I decided to get back out on the road..even if it could only be for one day. Called a friend, and drove in the direction of the ocean...Rt. 50 was empty, dark and exactly what I needed to break me from the limbotic trance I had been in recently. Slept in the van and made it out on the sand just before sunset. The sky was purple with a brightly rising moon. Horseshoe crabs shells scattered along the beach. The wind was cold... hitting me from the north.. my friend had tears in her eyes..but nothing was said about them. I drifted off into my own space thinking how long it had been since I last saw the Atlantic coast, Is it really longer then I could remember? It seems I had traveled thousands of miles and hit the Pacific many, times over, but never did I go east... I grew up with the longing to go West. I wonder if kids out west have the same longing for the East? .............
