Happy St. Patty's Day!! This is one of my favorite days of the year. Irish or not everyone tends to come together in the spirit of St. Patty's Day and not just for the drinking. Its one the few days of the year I can blast bag pipe and other Irish music and most people don't issue. I find bag pipes to soothing. I lived the last five years in Chicago and I loved going to the St. Patty's events and the Celtic Festival, kinda sad I'm missing all of it this year. I love the Celtic cultures--the music, the traditions, the food, the art--all of it. The Celtic Festivals in Chicago are fantastic, if you ever get the chance to go I definitely suggest checking it out. Days like to day and things like the Celtic Festival, I feel closer to my heritage, or at least part of it. My grandma's family (on my mom's side) is from Scotland--I think they came to the USA right before WW1. Couple of years ago my mom and her twin sister went to Scotland to learn more about our family and actually found living relatives over there--I thought this was super exciting. I have more Celtic heritage, Irish, from my dad's side too but its not as clear as when they came to the USA. My dad and his brothers all had the fiery red hair, kinda wish I had inherited that from him. Hope everyone has a happy St. Patty's Day!! And if you are not Irish, you are today.

I have Scottish and Irish relatives too! That's awesome that you actually know yours though. I'd love to track mine down someday.

Was born in Scotland, so have many relatives still there. Moved to US when I was 12, but I have been back many times over the years.
