I went to a conference to present a paper last month. At most large professional conferences the time is not your own, there are late evening banquets, award cermonies, and dinners and lunches with colleagues. So even if I'm in a beautiful place like Monterey, there is little time to enjoy the sites. This time I brought my little folding bike so I could get in a little recreation in during the five days of the conference.
