rush right in.

i admit that i hardly know you.
we've talked all through the night.
once shared a hug, a hearty laugh
yet hardly in each others sight.
i know little things about you,
favorite color, favorite food...
how smart you are, what makes you laugh,
and promises to never be untrue.
there is somthing about you.
i've felt it for a while.
i can see it in you too,
hidden there in your smile.
i wasn't trying to find you,
i surely had no right
to snatch away such a precious gem;
like a dark thief in the night.
what'd happen if i wrote my thoughts?
wrote down all i had to say?
my goals and dreams for you and i
to do, to be? could you say you'd stay?
the time has come, it's long past due,
to put aside my fears;
would this confession torture you,
or have you longed to hear?
should my reach exceed my grasp,
what else is heaven for?
would you cherish my presence
should i walk into your door?
cherish with me the wonders of life
they should to be preserved.
rejoice with me in the mysteries
of what is yet to be heard.
lay with me under the stars,
on warm and silent nights.
wrap your arms about me,
together sounds so right.
i've heard it said, once or twice
"only fools rush right in."
i must be a fool if it is true,
i think i've fallen right in...
