Moving on, I've never been a big fan of sugary breakfast cereals.
I always preferred original Cheerios, Shreddies, Raisin Bran, Rice Puffs and All Bran over all others. While I will admit to liking the odd bowl of Fruit Loops once once every few years, sugar frosted cereals always look gross with that thick sheet of sugar, like they've been shellacked with plastic. What's with the unnatural colors, colors that appear no where else on Earth, and dehydrated Styrofoam packing peanuts referred to as "marshmallow" bits some of them contain?!
People have had it wrong for years. You know what the gate way drug is? SUGAR.
Corporations spend billions targeting these sugary breakfast cereals with colorful mascots and give-away cheap prizes to get kids hooked on sugar. Once hooked, it's easier to market them other sugary products. Then you have a customer for life.
I applaud those who are currently trying to make it illegal to market food products to children. There's an article over here at Treehugger worth reading. Lets get these "crack" dealers off our TV's and out of our children's lives.
