So my HD with ALL of my music died. That's 27.42 gigs of music and books. 5600 songs. 20.6 days of sound. I was pissed.

Never fear, that's why I bought the 30gig iPod. All was safe and restored with the help of PodWorks I got it all back.

Now I've got a 200 Gig drive for BUP.

So I'm bring up DNS services on my home network. I highly recomend it if your running any services in a private netowrk. It makes it so much eaisier to check mail with a laptop and I should be able to ssl my services inexpensively.

Seriously if you have more than just a couple devices you should do it.

4. Ditto...

Thank's again for the advice, I just purchased a 15" Power Book G4 with a 1.25 GHz processor , 1 512 RAM chip, 80 G 5400 HD and the combo drive. It should be a sweet machine. I'm sure there will be more questions to come.

That's a wicked nice machine. I just recommended it to a friend of mine (with a super drive though). You made the best configuration choices possible. I would recomend picking up a bit more ram sometime soon. 512 is more than adiquate for most things, but ...

So my Mail serivice is still dead. My "escalated" service request to apple means about dick. So here's my plan:

1 Copy my existing server and mailstore to my admin box. Take the existing mail server offline.

2 Build an entirely new 10.3 server and get it updated and configured as my mail server, but do not bring up mail services. Take the new mail...

So Muller, thanks for the Testimonial.

I've been meaning to keep a journal anyway.

So i think I'll make this a tech journal ...

I run mac Systems for 4 groups in Missoula MT. The School of Journalism, CSFN (a pharmacy research group), The Montana Kaimin (school newspaper) and the Missoula Independent (our weekly).

During this break i've been moving my 10.2 servers to 10.3....
