I just realized with all the musicals I'm playing in, I have some crazy weekends coming up. Like this coming weekend: Rehearsal Saturday morning in Fremont, the a matinee show at CMT in Downtown San Jose, then a concert in Redwood City at night, then a double feature in San Jo Sunday. 5 services in one weekend for 3 different groups. Should be fun! Not to mention the dress rehearsal Friday night, as well as regular rehearsals Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Fortunately, now that marching band is done I have time for all this playing. Now just to expand my private studio for the coming semester...
Back story first: I teach private music lessons, mostly trombone but also low brass and trumpet. I have several girls, oddly enough most of the low brass section at this school is made up of girls. A while back, one of my students asked what they meant to me. I finally figured it out and told then while we were all in Fresno for marching band finals a couple weeks ago:
"When/if I ever have kids, I want to have girls so they can grow up to be like you."
Thought I'd share.
