Bloggie blog time.
That's how you would spell it, right? Bloggie? Bloggy? Blogy? Blogie?
Had a gig last night with my trombone ensemble, and 6 of my private students played with us. It was just a Christmas gig, but having them there, playing with one of my groups, meant a lot to me. They sounded great, and they seemed to have a good time. I passionately love what I do, and I wouldn't keep doing it if I didn't like and respect the people I teach, so having them get the opportunity to share the stage with me out in the real world, not in the confines of a high school theater, was an awesome experience for me.
Other than that, not much is new. I always feel like writing here, but I can never think of anything blog-worthy. My life is pretty boring right now, it just goes on day to day to day. Can't complain, I'm happy, again, I love what I do, and the occasional lonely feelings don't last long. Ah well. Such is... winter?
Indeed, it is. today is the first day of winter, the longest day of the year. So after today, it starts to get warmer, right? Right? RIGHT?!?!
Let's see... Plans... Holiday weeks, lot's of family time. Good thing I like them...
I'm also planning a DC trip in February. Gonna visit a really good friend from college and see the city. I've never been there, so it will be nice to do something new for a change. I've wanted to see the Smithsonian all my life, so that should be fun.
Anywho... Time to go practice, and maybe work out.

I think it would be quite something to have you as a teacher. Your students are pretty lucky. Sounds like youv'e got your shit together in lots of ways and the fact that you love what you do probably transates really well to those high schoolers. Good for you. That's just awesome. Think of all the people who get up everyday and dread going to work. Sounds like you just don't have that malady. Nice.....
