I wish I could ctrl+C the last few days weather and ctrl+V over the rest of the year. It has been nearly perfect here for a couple of days. Temps in the upper 70's - low 80's and (most importantly) relativity low humidity. Humidity is the killer. I don't mind the heat, but the humidity is what makes southern summers so miserable. Also the bugs aren't out yet. I wish it could last, but I'm sure it will change soon.
There is that sweet smell of fresh cut grass lingering in the air, (one of my favorite smells in the world) reminding me that summer freedom is on the way. Despite the sometimes oppressive heat and humidity, summer is my favorite season. I guess it's a childhood thing. Summer always meant fun: no school, swimming, bike riding, star gazing, baseball, camp, etc. And although I don't do much of that anymore, I still get excited for summer. Every year they seem to get shorter though.
For me, this upcoming summer, just as the last 5 ones, will consist of rehearsing and performing Shakespeare in Montford Park. I'm directing The Tempest and will appear in Hamlet as Horatio. I'm looking forward to it, but they always take up so much of the summer. I hope this year I can get out of town at least a couple of times. I always regret not doing more in the summer.
Hopefully I can at least get out from in front of this screen for a while.

WE own that one... go figure!
Cat people was around the time of American Werewolf in London. I think they tried to be sexy and scary... sadly I am too jaded for it now!
