Ok Im stressing out here!! My student loans are going out of grace and start repayment in Oct and
will be 320 and change till Dec, then in Jan the payment jumps to 520 for the next 117 months!! Yeah I've filed to consolidate them but that just lowers the payment and spreads it out over a longer period of time!! Not really something Im interested in!! Kinda striking out in the job department here!! Everything thats available is
almost a 3 hour drive, 6 hour round trip to me thats not worth it in my book!! I could always get just a job, but I really want a career and thats kinda a waste of money that we spent on school if I just go get a job!! So I've been looking in to joining the military, I'd go in as an Officer, they would pay up to 65,000 of my loans back not including interest, plus I'd have a signing bonus and the GI Bill plus school while I was serving and right out of BCT and OCS I'd make $700 a year more than Chris who has 7 years in!! In addition to that I would be gaining experience with my degree and they have a soldiers to teacher program that I could do after my contract is up!! All I can see right now is the pros outweighing the cons, to be honest theres not much on my cons list so help me see what kinda cons are in this sweet deal! Im mean besides getting sent overseas, Im not to worried about that!! Chris stands behind me 100%, my mother thinks I shouldnt do it cause the military isnt a place for girls!! So let me here some other people thoughs on this, Im not thinking about signing anything till after July '07!! So I have plenty of time to make a well thought out decision!!
