I just watched Friday Night Lights. A pretty good film. Some of the players for Carter High School complained that they were portrayed as thugs. They were. Perhaps not on the football field. Many players were, however, involved in a series of thefts. Armed, but not violent. They just wanted the money. It was "just for kicks."
Many of those guys had promising careers ahead of them. The judge showed no mercy, hading down sentences from 25 to 5 years.
I have blogged about this before. Why again?
Because there is nothing I hate more that wasted talent.

Honestly, I wasn't a HUGE fan of Friday Night Lights the film, but that's because a ton came out right before it that I watched.
I blogged about this and my re-watching of Varsity Blues a week or two ago and how they seem to release these now at least once for every High School class.
