Predictably, the answer to my shoe question is 2 pairs of Doc Martens - one slightly shorter with a stacked heel and one 20 eye. Both in black. I'll post pictures once I have them. They're going to go great - hopefully - with some cheap and simple skirts from American Apparel which also found their way onto my debit card. Well, if I'm going to spend that on boots, I may as well be able to match them effectively.
It would currently seem that I'm going back to school with a boy instead of startin' anew. We'll see; I'm still skeptical, but I have to be. I'd rather not rejoice until it's a sure thing.
I woke up 2 and a half hours after I went to sleep - for a rising time of 6 am. Unfortunately, the 4 beers I had the night before (that is, roughly 3 hours before) made me incredibly sick to my stomach. The bath tub got much more back action then foot action this morning as I tried not to lose the non-existant contents of my stomach. Lovely way to start an already too early morning. But the mist off of the lake here was gorgeous and made up for it; there is nothing like early mornings for feeling fresh and overwhelmed by the air - even if one is almost too sleepy to give a shit.
I finished The Solar Lottery by Philip K Dick yesterday. That is, I gave up on Hofstadter's Metamagical Themas for the time being and picked up, and finished, The Solar Lottery. Now I'm on The Plague by Camus. Unfortunately, reading Camus meant that I absolutely couldn't read this morning after no sleep and much sickness. A pity, but I'll make up for it at some point. For now, I'm just glad to feel somewhat more chipper.
(As I write this, a little 1 year old girl is looking over my shoulder. I'll assume she, and everyone else in the room, doesn't know what this site is. Not that I'm ashamed of it, but she's not mine and I try not to scandalize just everyone that I meet.)

(p.s. Ironically for you, one of the larger shopping centers in Colorado Springs is the Chapel Hills Mall.)
