My first tattoo is pretty small and sometimes I forget that I have it, but it's still very special to me. I've wanted it since I was very very young and it all stemmed from my love of Ancient Egypt. As a kid, I was obsessed with Egyptian mythology and would read or watch anything that had to do with it. So naturally, when I got older, I realized I couldn't be an archeologist and I had to settle for this tattoo haha. So I got a little ankh (a few years later I got the Eye of Horus in a winged scarab on the nape of my neck as well). An ankh in Egyptian mythology represents eternal life, it's sometimes referred to as the key of life, or the key of the Nile.
I got it done on my 18th birthday with a group of friends who came along. It was super funny because it's literally the tiniest tattoo, yet I had a group of 5 people watching me get it done. It ended up not healing great and there's a little spot of ink missing from the center where it scabbed off too early. Oh well, lessons learned right?
And here are some pictures from the day I turned 18 and got this little baby tattoo of an ankh.
