some girls who have inspired me, and show different but all beautiful variations of being a woman!
What does it mean to me to be a suicide girl or SG hopeful? well since I was 15 I knew i fit in here. I saw on MTV a show about SG when it was just starting out. I always wanted to be covered in ink since I was about 10. And I wanted to model but im a little on the short side so no cat walk for me!
a long time went by where I just looked, and got inspired and encouraged by what I saw. I saw women being brave and unique. It made me feel like , yes, we should celebrate the beauty of our bodies and its not EVIL to be naked! there was nothing about the site i didnt like. And soon I started becoming more active.
One thing, that I love so much is my idea of what is important and what it is to be a suicide girl has changed this past year. You see before, in the earlier years of my SG browsing, I thought that being a suicide girl meant that you were a "bad", "tough" , "rebel" girl, or a "bad ass" or did not care what people thought. Or somewhat gothic. Sure some of these characteristics are part of some women here. But as I meet more people, and learn more, I realized what is so awesome, is that there is not just one right way to be a woman. And some of the greatest Suicide Girls are soft, sweet, shy, modest , honest, perhaps super spiritual, among other qualities that most people do not think of when they think of SG (if they are outsiders who do not know the site). And best of all, you can be hard, and soft. I have observed some bad ass chicks, that are kind and helpful. It changes what it means to be tough, or bad ass, when someone can do that, and be kind, sincere, loving, admit they are flawed, admit they have troubles in life, be vulnerable. this is what makes SG so beautiful to me, is the contrast and the joining of dark and light, tough and soft, in women.
Im thankful to SG, all these women and kind members for showing and reminding me that to embrace your self, (good , bad, soft, tough, etc) your own unique self, is the best way to feeling good and enjoying yourself. Not trying to look like another girl to fit in, or not trying to be gothic when really your a sweet hippy, really just be yourself. I have seen so many different personalities on the front page, its really what I think is one of the best characteristics of SG. Its that you are encouraged to embrace what matters to YOU, and what feels right to YOU. and to learn and be curious about the differences in others and cherish the wide variety of creativity.
as an artist, Ive always been inspired by the many different kinds of tattoos girls get, and why. I could browse for hours and hours just admiring the creativity. Thank you SG and girls for inspiring me for so many years!!!!
