One year anniversary of the Iraq invasion, well March 19 was, but today, the 20 there will be a global day of protest. Now if you supported the war I disagree, and I can tell you why, but I respect your opinion and don't wish to shut you up with my comments, but having said that I have come to understand that the paradigm shifters of our time, by way I mean the last 50 years or so, the individuals, mostly white, wealthy, men, who have shaped the course of human history and events have been not men at all, but systems. War, Militarism, Greed, Capitalism. Religion, Christian. Where are the artists and poets to rise up to the challenge? Where are the intellectuals that now merely throw strones from on high? Where are those committed enough to that most dynamic and beautiful of all ideas: utopia? Have we lost our thirst for life so defenselessly.

This is not about right or left, war or "peace" (I put peace in quotations becuase I cannot think of a period in human history where it has existed, so when we speak of "peace" we refer only to the absence of war and violence, not something that has power of its own).

This is about you, this is about me, this is about us and our ability to live without fear.

Peace takes courage, so I encourage you to raise your voice up loud, even if you do not know exactly what to say yet, that will reveal itself in time.

peace and love, more than words,

well I don't know much about Oakland but NY is very expensive. Very very expensive. Personally I'm not a huge fan, although I can't say I hate it here. I like going into the city and I love that I can drive out east and see farms. All the traffic gets to me though sometimes. The people are cool for the most part. I like the abundance of open minded people.
thanks for the compliment blush
