Had a nice little work trip to Puerto Rico. Just got back last Wednesday. Feels good to be home.

Lost a few plants in the garden, I guess thats to be expected when you go away for ten days on short notice, and end up staying twenty four.

At least the cat is still alive.

Working my ass of trying to create a veggie garden in some really bad soil.

Corns doing well, most of my seeds have started to sprout so they should be going into the ground by next week.

The reconstruction of the "Power Lounge" has been slowed by the 95 degree weather.
I think I'm going to have to give up on a lawn for this...

Not with the right amount of Light, water, and food.

Veggie gardens are popping up all over. I'm finding that people are slowly getting more involved in there yards. As the money belt gets tighter people start to do more things themselves. Plus the DWP is giving big discounts to home owners that install new water efficient irrigation systems.

I just helped a friend install an 8 zone sprinkler and drip system in his back yard. He used a DWP approved sprinkler system that will cut his water usage down by over 30%. The drip system is feeding 10, 1/2 wine barrels loaded with veggies. They are doing great and his new wife, an organic chef, is tickled pink with all her produce.

The best part is of the $300.00 he spent on the new system, the DWP is giving him $200.00 back.

The yard looks the best it has in years, and its already starting to save him money. Who could ask for anything more?

Well of to the porch for refreshing glass of peppermint sun tea, got to take advantage of the heat somehow.
