Robert Morgan is one of the UK's best kept secrets. His short films are beautiful, shocking, upsetting, cruel and contain more imagination in there megre running times than any number of mainstream blockbusters. He's a genius with a warped brain that seeps out painful truth.
Perhaps the best of his work is his animated short The Seperation. This horrific story of brotherly love, desire for completion, and horrific mutilation is moving, honest and packs an emotional punch that you never thought two wax figures could deliver. Even with no dialogue, Morgan creates characters who's motives you can see, understand and recognise. Towards the end, simple scenes in which northin much happens contain so much pain they are hard to watch. Is it a happy ending? I'm not saying.
If you do some careful searching, you'll be able to find a DVD that contains all his films in one location. It is essential. Buy it.
