Nanowrimo. Who here is doing it this year?

I've written a novel for the last 4 years. Which is great! But the thing is, I have 4 novels sitting around, gathering dust on the tall shelf of my book case.

It gets worse:
One of them is actually good.

I have no time to edit it. Last year I took the challenge and wrote a whole new book, but the one I really want to edit and publish is no closer to being done.

I'm thinking I might officially participate in nanowrimo, but actually set myself daily editing goals with equivalent word counts (including expanding the text). Who's with me? Anyone wanna bug me excessively to make sure I edit my book? I'm totally not as excited to do this as to discover something new.

But if a girl is going to be famous and live off of her own art earnings, girl better learn to finish a project. .....Right?

Now that's a loooong distance relationship. I mean, K_Rex and my's relationship was only 1200 miles for 2 years, TX to NC, but you have an entire ocean to hop over. Glad you'll see her in a few months. The wait time is brutal.

I am so envious of you being able to write. I've always wanted to, and have started a few time with what I consider good ideas, but I keep overthinking it to the point of paralysys...I just cannot write any more because my ideas hare off in too many directions and trying to see the outcomes of every direction. Several of the authors I read have said many times how their characters take on a life of their own and they are constantly surprised at the outcomes. Sometimes they create a new character that they are not even sure if they will survive. Laurell K Hamilton is one that has said this a few times, can't remember the other.

I cannot imagine that amount of freedom, willingness to let go and see how something flows and adjust to it as it goes. I'm way to much a stickler for knowing how something starts, a few key points in the middle, and how something ends, and sticking with that. I think that's what bogs me down every time. Well, that and that I don't type fast enough to keep up with ideas.

Good luck with the writing. I'll try to be first in line when you publish your first book!!

Love and happiness to you.
