I need more than 5 slots to store my "Favourite Suicide Girls." I know... old story. But still... dammit!

The sun was shining here today... clear and cool, my favourite kind of weather. I took some photos I'm happy with, so basically it has been a good day. I also "explored" a mine tunnel I've passed a couple of times on hikes... finally remembered to...

Ha ha, you said "favourite". Silly Canadian. tongue

Too bad the tunnel was only a few metres long. It could have been fun. I like exploring dark places... spelunking is the best.

I haven't been camping and hiking for so long! I miss it. Maybe you can be my camping tour guide or campfire leader sometime.

Activism. I think a lot about it these days, in part because of the current US political situation, and in part because a number of friends and relatives are activists for various political causes.

I'm not opposed to activisim. Quite the contrary. But at the same time, I wonder how much good it really does. The protester, waving his (or her) sign in the face...

Faust sold his soul to the Devil for power, knowledge, prosperity, love...
depending on whose version of the story you happen to like.

What I find interesting, though, is a pattern that seems to be present in how

Just say no.

That's my advice.

Sure, they'll tell you how great it is. "Everybody's trying it." So you give it a try, thinking, "Just a bit... I can always just stop, if I don't like it." But you get sucked in. You try it for a while... you get used to it. You start to think you need it. You keep going... more and...

I guess that's true if the population is distributed evenly. I kinda thought that the exceptionally bright people are farther above average than the dull people are below. Maybe that's not right... meh.
And yes. Statistics are not applicable to one person. smile Got it.

yeah, there are about 537,295 (±537,291) different kinds of "intelligence", only a few of which can be measured by any test. I envy those who are smart in the ways I am not, even if I scored high on the SATs and IQ tests.

Why flies?

Okay, whether one is a biologist or a theologian, one has to accept that what exists, exists for a reason. As a biologist, I can see that bacteria must exist so that dead things decompose. Prey must exist so that predators can live. Predators must exist so that prey do not multiply beyond need, and so that bacteria have something to eat (when...
