Seattle is foggy beautiful tonight. Walking around the U-District reminds me of the labyrinth scenes in The Shining.

I saw The Producers at a free screening tonight. It's funny and I'm so in love with Uma. Ethan fucked up. I don't know what the hell he was thinking, but he fucked up. Big time.

I say Walk The Line yesterday and I must say, it's...

It's hard to be happy when I missed my favorite band's last show in the US EVER, and when I have to buy a new tire and all kinds of stuff I can't afford... thanks for the thanksgiving wishes, but I don't ever have a happy thanksgiving. and this is just the start of it. It's all downhill from here....

ouch.

I got hit by a car just about an hour ago! I was biking up a hill, going past an on ramp to the I-5, with on going cars coming towards me. I had a bike light and everything, but an oncoming car second guessed itself stopped in the middle of the street to let me pass because I had the right-of-way, and the...

On the contrary, they were great guys, but I believe all good things come in time.

Sorry to hear about the hit.

I hear playing pool is good therapy though.

Humble pie.

A reliable confidant suggested I write an apology letter to the therapist I offended last week. Ugh. I really need an attitude adjustment because what people are telling me is starting to actually sink in. I'm too intense. Like a bull in a china shop. I tend to think people need to lighten up and buck up sometimes, but I think I'm wrong....

hey! thanks for the friend request. unfortunately, i really try hard to keep my friends list to those people i have met in person or who comment in my journal on a regular basis. i like being able to click on my bookmarks and be genuinely interested in the journals that come up. please feel free to bookmark me as interesting and make a comment or two in my journal when you read something that interests you!

Reality or theater (fiction)?

I'm a sucker for both. Actually, I'm a huge fan of goood literature, film and theater. Like many, I feel that what's "good" is what entertains and teaches me/us something. It has a message of sorts worth telling. Like the story, To Kill A Mockingbird.

On the other hand, I really dig reality. When I'm not anticipating a show, I mean,...

"Depends on the importance of the truth" -- yeah, I love that idea. I'm definitely stealing it.

And I think it answers the question that you pose. Namely: How much does it matter to you that one specific person believe or not believe in a god? And how much does it matter to that person?

If the belief gives that person comfort and isn't hurting anyone else. and your motive here is the possibility that they might hurt other people in the name of religion, then it seems that the importance of their truth to them should outweigh the importance of your truth to you. What they believe is important to them and has a much lesser impact on what's important to you.

On the other hand, if the belief is being actively used as an excuse to hurt other people, then the answer might change.

Yea! I'm done with my CE class. I had a much saner trip down there. I biked again, but this time I knew where I was going and didn't land on the freeway. I did get drenched though and I'm still drying off/warming up and that was 7-8 hours ago!

I need someone to snuggle and get all warm and cuddly with!

Meanwhile I'm gonna...

My children's father is getting married this evening at 6 so I am getting our children ready to attend. Then I will sit and watch a movie and do a little homework until they call me and are ready to come home. Nothing to exciting for me this weekend, just homework, homework and more homework.

Frustrated.hmmmm bc of the idiots around me. wink

What a day! I got up at 5:30 this morning to bike down to Tukwila to attend the first day of a 2-day CE class required for my personal care provider job. I procrastinated all year and this appears to be the last possible class I can attend this year in order to fulfill my yearly 10 hours of CE requirement.

Tukwila is 16 miles...

I'm frustrated. Really frustrated. I've got this problem that I've had since I was in kindergarten and I can't figure out how to make it go away. I mean, I saw a health care provider today about this problem and even she gave up on me out of sheer frustration and disgust. What gives? I know that we're all human, but damn, I was really...

I've taken classes in a therapy called myofascial release; one of the theories behind it is that talk therapy doesn't completely resolve problems because you are only dealing with the logical part of your mind. In myofascial release they deal with every aspect of your body. Mind, physical body and emotions. I have the treatments done myself and its the best thing I've done for myself. Check out Myofascialrelease.com, it might interest you and lead you in a direction of figuring out how to make sense of things. John Barnes started the therapy; he's a great person and very insightful!

Observe - Nonjudgmentally
Describe - One-mindfully
Particpate - Effectively

These are hard for me to do but, I need to do 'em. All the time.

It's been a rough week. I got bitter after my dad rejected me b/c I no longer believe in god. Now I'm trying to do the above and figure out what the wisest thing to do about it. He will...

Hmm its a tuff situation. If he wanted to see your daughter badly enough he would understand (even if he doesn't like it) that to be able to see her you need to be there to accompany her.

He sounds like an unreasonable man and quiet frankly if I were you I wouldn't want my daughter having anything to do with him.

A parent is supposed to love and support their children no matter what decisions in life they make even if its something they disapprove of.

Learn from his mistakes and be the best dad you possibly can!

Good luck with it all kiss

I had a great time with my daughter this weekend. Last night, on our way to her house, she said that it was the best Halloween ever because she got to spend it with me, her friends and because she got to be someone she actually wanted to be for a change. She even made her own costume. Yes. She sewed it together herself. I...

I'm sure she's a lucky girl.

Interesting family dynamics (an interactive system or process, especially one involving competing or conflicting forces: the story of a malign dynamic between white prejudice and black autonomy (Edmund S. Morgan)).

I'm excited. I'm going to see the most beautiful woman in the world tomorrow! Yes. My daughter. Uh, huh. She's 15 1/2 and is the reason I'm still alive today. She's the apple of my eye.

And she'd flip if she knew I was on this site. Her mother? OMG. I'd be banished forever. So, what they don't know won't hurt 'em. smile
