Went to Oakland last night and saw Roots of Orchis. They were great but the show sucked ass otherwise. Sometimes I really appreciate being in a small town where everyone knows each other and gets super pumped up about shows.
HSMRC launched in Oakland this morning. I am converting people across California and we're going to go nationwide soon. There were some little mini Republicans out supporting us and they were super pumped about it!
We tried to launch the buttplug rocket but it just spun around in circles on the launch pad. We learned our lesson on this one: don't try to launch anything without a launch lug attached to the launch pad.
2nd rocket was an inverted Alpha III, now known as Vlad the Impaler. This rocket has been through hell but can still deliver a beating. We turned it around and put a huge engine where the nose normally is. It came down FAST and almost impaled the Mini Republicans in the head.
3rd rocket was the Mean Machine. It was the second launch for this beast, and we fucking lost it on the roof of a preschool. The nosecone didn't blow and instead it just came straight down, nearly killing a small child. It was pretty scary and I would have hated to see one of our own wasted by friendly fire. I'm super bummed that I lost this rocket, but one thing I've learned in the Homeland Security Model Rocket Club is sometimes there are casualties of war.
