Ultimately, a life-affirming religion is a religion of Maya. Sure everything might be a dream, but if thats what one believes, its still necessary to have a healthy respect for the act of dreaming and for the dream world as it already is. One has to be capable of saying yes to life as it stands. After that, theres options. One can say yes to the act of changing the world to make things better or slightly less terrible. Or instead say yes to enlightment. Or maybe a third choice is to alternate. Enlightenment by itself though is so dreary and deadly. The act of surviving in the actual world requires participation in the framework that Maya provides. Diversity is a product of Maya. Life is a product of Maya. Our consciousness and our sense of our own identity, are both resting on the framework of Maya. If we forsake Maya, if we say it isnt real, we are saying that we ourselves are not real. And thus we die. And I guess, merge with the invisible nothing that claims to be the only thing thats real. The point: Bliss can be a trap. Fuck bliss in its asshole. However, bliss plus a healthy respect for Maya has potential.
