Defining what is Positive Erotica and what is Opressive Pornography is a little difficult. Positive Erotica could be SG, but what makes it positve? No hard sex (oral, anal, intercourse)? A higher degree of control from the models? More emotion in the photograpy (as subjective as such a proclamation can be)? Is Playboy opressive?
What is opressive pornography? Porn that degrades women? What constitutes degredation of women in porn? Is it just a money shot or when I guy is obviously the dominant sexual partner? Does that make S/M porn that includes a domanatrix strictly positive?
Do the viewers of porn make the genre positive or oppressive? If I masturbate to SG vs. not masturbating to SG and viewing it strictly from an asthetic perspective make it oppressive?
Tough call. By virtue of its models locations SG is an international organization thus cultrual standards for opression will vary widely. So where's the locus for judgement? I think it's fair to say that _some_ porn is oppressive but _not all_ porn is oppressive. Thoughts?
