The time to vacate is now. Step-parents can be total assholes, my Step-dad had been drinking all day and finally ended up in that mean state of mind. So, I exited suruptitiously (i.e. the window) and spent a few hours in the office writing a proposal and customizing one of the linux boxes I maintain. I'm glad I'll be house sitting at the end of July, at least that gets me out of here for a while. Hopefully I can find other ways to pointedly not be at home until I leave for school again.
For those of you who are into the Industrial scene, the new Industrial Nation was ok, lots of interviews (good, if that's your thing), not much other content. They had a lengthy reviews section which will be cool for finding new stuff, but I was somewhat disappointed on the lack of other content. They had a scene spot for Australia and a few other places, but that was largely unappealing to me. The column where they rehashed where they had made mistakes in prognosticating the next big thing was funny as shit. I wish they had other permanant columns, something to round out the lengthy interviews.
In other industrial news, Covenant - Northernlight was OK, the first three tracks were really great, I found the majority of the rest (with the exception of We Want a Revolution) to be whiney. Assemblage 23 - Defiance was the bomb diggity though, I really liked how he moved away from a lot of the House beats that are all over the place, much more of a dance album I thought.
Hrm, maybe I should submit to IN, see if they'll publish some sort of column I do. Interesting idea.
Also started on writing up my grant proposal, I found a book which gave me a good outline for what a proposal should look like, now I just need to pay that hefty library fine and it can be mine! For a limited time only.
