After years and years of trying to lose weight, and after failed attempts at succes, I have finally found a reason and a means to accomplish why has always been out of reach. I started biking around town a little bit here and there, and I was enjoying my time out in the sun and fresh air. But come may 2012 (bike month) I had a whole new appreciation for biking. I started riding to work (11 miles one way) every day. Now this was on a full suspension mountain bike weighing in at 35 pounds. Within the first week I dropped almost ten pounds. My clothes started fitting better, I wasn't as tired as I used to be, and to top it off, my attitude had gotten a lot better too.
But it really wasn't a reality for me to lose weight till my daughter was born. Seeing her for the first time made me realize, hey.... I really need to take care of myself, for her. She is now the reason I really started biking. And I hope one day she can enjoy it as much as I do. It's brought countless smiles (and frowns) to my face, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
