So this documentary that I helped produce about 4 or 5 years ago is finally on DVD and on sale to the public for the first time, ever!
We did a few film festivals and got some great press, but no action on it beyond that. We couldn't press it and sell it due to some rights crap with some of the music in it,...

So a friend of mine left the club a few minutes before I did, saw the aftermath of the wreck before the police and ambulances arrived. It was a motorcycle and a big sedan. She said she saw the rider underneath the car. She was pretty shaken.
Me? I would be, too. I don't like seeing dead bodies.

the reunion was us,Toys Went Berserk.
the Sydney gig was great fun,but the Melbourne gig? well nobody came.Mind you we never really establshed a following down here and i didnt expect a huge turn out,but not one of my friends here came to see us which is a tad disappointing but nevermind.
Thats not the entire reason i'll not do it again.I just dont really see the point in going over it all again,i mean it was a great time but its gone now.I certainly dont have any regrets about it but i guess its a case of life's too short to be living in the past.On the upside,it has given me renewed enthusiasim to get some musical projects going.
foward ever.

Left the gig last night, and there were cops everywhere with a big section of the street blocked off, with my car inside. There was some kind of nasty wreck, someone was killed, they wouldn't tell me anything else. They weren't even going to let me get my car out because they didn't want to potentially screw up any part of the accident scene.

thanks for the birthday wishes buddy.... it's been a while.
i left a bar one night with a good friend of mine, and we stumbled from cheapo-drink-goth night to a taped off parking lot... apparently while were inside, there was a ninja star gang throwdown outside.... made me think of dudikoff..
more later....

I keep thinking my life is getting boring now that I'm just a working schlep, but it keeps trying its best to prove me wrong.
Tonight at work I got a message from the old friend I mentioned a few days ago that runs a hotel down the street from the one I work in, saying he was having a party on his rooftop tonight....

You? Life? Boring? I can't fit these words into the same sentance and must therefore separate them with punctuation.

Hey, nice mask buddy - I like ya style
H is back from Melbourne; I've got the day off Tuesday. Going to haul my instruments over to his place to beat out some tunes. It'll be good for me, I haven't played in over a year. He's going to let me keep them over there, too, which is good, as I don't have much space here, and can't really practise in a small apartment...

love the new profile pic!
So yesterday I drove down to San Diego for an ex's birthday dinner. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, thought I might feel weird hanging out with her and her new boyfriend, but it didn't bother me at all. Even went to breakfast with the two of them this morning before I took off; by that time I wasn't uncomfortable at all, but...

I've been in the same situation, the guy was way bigger than me but you could tell he was intimidated, I took the initiative and broke the ice by talking about La Grange points (he's an astrophysicist).
Round one results: pretty good, pretty good.
The next 2 nights should be full of shenanigans.
It's about time!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, tell me all about those shenanigans when you have recovered.
Randomly got back in touch with 2 guys I hadn't talked to in like 7 years, guys I know from Texas, who live out here now, like less than 1.5 miles from where I live. Hot! Went and caught up with 'em over some booze last night after work.
They're both divorced, cheated on, drunk, and bitter, just like me. So awesome.

I yeah the staff in those places seem to bounce between both st john's and the anchor. James was at bread and wine and i knew Tom who went from st john to the anchor otherwise its people i can place a face but not a name to, or vice versa. short of that I remeber a few people like Justin the Baker but a year and a half seems like a long time ago now. My old Head Chef is a god friend of Fergus Henderson so he comes to my most recent London Kitchen (blueprint cafe)
as it happens I just cooked something from the st john Book and if i was in town now id go and get Jam Doughnuts from B+W.

Right
So, Josh was here. Went out with him and his brother, and a friend of mine who joined us along the way.
We just went for a bite to eat, and ended up with a $100 bar tab to go with our $20 of food.
Then we went drinking
Neither one of us got as wild drunk as we used to a year ago...

i'm glad you bumped into him this week. the ship guys were gutted they weren't gonna see him.
Apparently the guy was here a couple weeks ago to "check for water damage" but then when he left he said everything looked fine. So then we got a call on Monday saying he was comnig back to look around, but when he showed up on Tuesday he was totally pimpin' to break ground. So, yeah, really no forewarning from the LL, especially with regards to the fact that it was going to take 6 days.
How's life as a rock-star chef treating you?
