Well, the Weekend Of Liver Doom has ended, and I am still alive. More importantly, all my internal organs seem to still be functioning.
Indeed. Well, Friday night was a smasher, I suppose, as I remember very little of it. The whiskey tasting at school started off around 4.30pm, and after the tasting we just hung around draining the bottles. I shudder to think at the amount of potential bar revenue we consumed for free in that time frame ... the cheapest Scotch we had around was a 10-year single malt, and it went up from there to top off at a Glenfiddich of which only 200 cases were even produced. From there, it was on to the regular after-school pub on the corner, where I continued to shovel whiskey down my throat until wandering off to the Ship, where my memories of the evening come to a crashing halt mere seconds after running into Munch, CreamyGoodness, LadyInsane, and a couple other people who I really don't remember at all. Well, I heard all sorts of tales of my behavior over the next couple days, that range in lunacy from standing outside the pub after they'd kicked me out (for about the 10th time) making faces at them through the window while they were closing up, to chasing one of the barmaids around the table, screaming, "I'm gonna getcha! I'm gonna getcha!!"
Nothing but class, eh?
Right .... and on to Saturday, and the CreamyFanny birthday extravaganza, after which I decided to be lame and, instead of going to a club with the rest of the long-staminad SGUK crew, fucked off to the Crobar on my own, to hang around a bunch of other miserable drunks like myself. No further excitement, unfortunately.
Sunday, though .... oh, Sunday.
It was the Ship's employee late Christmas party, which started in a pub at noon, continued with ice skating (followed by more pub action), and ended with me throwing several other Ship employees out of my flat at around 1am so I could sing along to Tom Waits and do laundry while drinking whiskey and eating a Nutella and Black Currant Jam sandwich in peace.
I do have some amusing pictures, but not too many, and they'll have to wait until I can find time to rig my laptop up to the Net and upload them.
Hopefully this week will be more tame.
